Ramana Maharshi (1879 -1950) was one of the most important sages in India. He led a withdrawn life on the mountain Arunachala in Southern India. People from all countries, educational levels and religions came to him.
He wrote very little and taught mainly through the tremendous power of his silence and presence. If he felt that a question was asked with a sincere motive he gave a full answer in speech or in written form.
Nearly everything that he wrote was in response to some request, to meet the specific needs of some devotee. Therefore at the beginning of the various items a short note is given explaining their genesis.
This work contains all the compositions of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi, in poetry and prose. Also included are translations from the Advaitic texts that he considered to be the most direct teachings for the attainment of the supreme state of Self-Realization. A very clear, powerful and direct guide for seekers of Truth.
